Privacy Policy
Introduction
Officast ("we", "our", or "the app") is a personal utility for hybrid workers. It is built to be private by design: you do not create an account, and your data stays on your device. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with your information.

Information We Collect
Officast does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on our servers. We have no servers, no account system, and no analytics. Everything you enter stays on your device:
- Your monthly office-day quota and daily check-ins (office / work-from-home / holiday)
- Your home and office locations, commute times, and notification settings
- Cached weather forecasts
This data is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage (SwiftData and app preferences). It is never uploaded.
Weather Requests (the only network communication)
To recommend office vs. work-from-home, the app fetches an hourly weather forecast from Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com). To do this, the approximate coordinates of the home and office locations you entered are sent to Open-Meteo so it can return the local forecast. No account identifier, device identifier, or other personal information is sent, and no API key is used. Please refer to Open-Meteo's terms and privacy information for how they handle requests.
Calendar Access
If you grant calendar access, Officast reads public-holiday events only to highlight holidays in the in-app calendar. This is a local, read-only use — calendar data is never uploaded or shared.
Notifications
Officast can send local reminders (for example, an evening check-in). These are scheduled entirely on your device using local notifications. No push server (APNs) is involved and no data is transmitted.
No Advertising, Analytics, or Third-Party SDKs
Officast contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no third-party tracking SDKs. It does not use advertising identifiers and does not track you across apps or websites.
Data Retention and Deletion
Because all data is stored only on your device, you are always in full control. To delete everything, simply delete the app — all local data (records, settings, cached weather) is removed with it. There is no server-side data to request deletion of.
Children's Privacy
Officast is a general-audience productivity utility and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above.
